It is helpful to get to know who you will be working with in the intimate setting that therapy provides. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor who graduated from Lindenwood Unversity with my Masters of Arts in Professional Counseling in 2012. There I studied about relationships, disorders, social functioning impairments, cultural studies, diagnosis and different therapeutic techniques. I have a passion for counseling and helping others and believe it is my calling to do so. My personal experience with anxiety and trauma, along with my education helps me connect closely with my clients and to have a level of empathy that my clients need.

I started Inspire Change Counseling, LLC in 2014 with the hopes of expanding into an integrative health care practice wherein clients get a multi-disciplinary mode of care. I believe in the body as a whole focusing on all aspects: mental, physical, social, emotional and spiritual. I say often that our brain is arguably the most important organ in the body, as it is the command center for the rest of our organs. If that is the case, why do we not put emphasis on its health and the ripple effect that it can have in our body and lives?

As a Certified Personal Trainer and a Corrective Exercise Specialist I use my education and personal experience in the health field to incorporate the aforementioned integrative wellness care.  I believe medicine is important in a lot of cases, but also have enjoyed learning, teaching and personally using other coping skills that can be supplemental and supportive of medication in nature. I consider myself to be holistic in the sense that the body as a whole is treated with care. I work closely with chiropractors, nutritionists and psychiatric nurse practitioners in the area to understand what may be happening from a physiological perspective.

In my practice I specialize in treating anxiety disorders, trauma and addiction and also work with depression, bipolar disorder/mood disorders, career counseling, add/adhd and grief. I work with adolescents, teens, adults, couples and families and use a personalized treatment modality with all of my clients. I am also trained in EMDR trauma therapy which is a specialty therapy where one is completely conscious and in charge and is able through the strength of the mind to desensitize and reprocess memories that affect us in the present. www.emdria.org

I truly believe that each person is an individual and therefore not every technique works for everyone. I begin my therapy with a comprehensive exploration of your history, social, psychological, familial, and physical. I help you come up with goals for therapy in order to begin to create a relationship centered on individual empowerment. Gathering information helps me to devise a treatment plan to better understand each individual.  The therapeutic relationship is a linear one which means I am an equal, and am there to walk along side you. I have a true passion for what I do and have seen people who feel hopeless and broken leave with extraordinary changes and a new outlook on life.

Life is a collection of stories that deserve to be heard. I am a Licensed and Nationally Certified Professional Counselor and my role is to help individuals find their voice in order to fight against shame through empowerment and self-exploration. I believe counseling is a safe and confidential place to begin healing. I specialize in working with adults, teens and adolescents who struggle with depression, anxiety, stress, and life transitions. I work from an integrated approach that addresses the mind, body, and spirit.
In my training of Effective Trauma Care, I recognize that other holistic interventions may be needed in coordination with talk therapy. Dance or mindful movement are ways, if needed, clients can learn to express their feelings if they don’t have the words. Other common interventions that I practice are CBT, mindfulness, and trauma informed care. I am also trained in EMDR trauma therapy which is a specialty therapy where one is completely conscious and in charge and is able through the strength of the mind to desensitize and reprocess memories that affect us in the present. www.emdria.org
I accept Anthem insurance in network, out of network insurance plans that will sometimes reimburse, and self pay at a rate of $110 per session. I have openings for appointments during the day and evening hours. Please call or email me for more information . It would be my honor to join you on this journey. I look forward to hearing from you.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over thirteen years of experience working with children, adolescents and families. In addition to providing clinical therapy, I am dedicated and skilled in providing collaborative services for my clients to provide a more holistic approach to treatment. When you take that brave first step and seek professional help, it is my mission to ensure that my client’s social/emotional, mental and physical health needs are being addressed. After we discuss your strengths and needs, together - we will create an individual treatment plan, set goals and begin the journey towards healing and restoring balance in your life.

I strongly feel it is beneficial to create a support system and collaborate with other health professionals, possibly school staff and other identified sources of support. I utilize many different therapeutic modalities based on client needs such as: CBT, Trauma-Focused and Family Systems and quite often integrate these and other techniques.

When working with children and adolescents, I specialize in providing therapeutic services that address behavioral issues in school and home, social skills, peer relationships, impulse control, self-harming, depression, anxiety, grief and divorce. Other services I offer parents are consulting with school staff, observing the child in the school or home setting, attending school meetings and providing tools and strategies to implement at home or in school.

In addition to play therapy, mindfulness and other treatment approaches utilized during child sessions, I also integrate visual, auditory, tactile and kinesthetic activities to optimize a productive session. When working with adults, I feel that it is imperative to build a safe and trusting relationship. During our sessions, we will work together to ensure that you feel supported and equipped while navigating through the struggles of family conflict, parenting, low self-worth, grief, divorce, depression and anxiety.

I offer evening hours and see clients on Saturday. I am in network with Anthem and Blue Cross Blue Shield insurance and out of network for all other major insurance companies. Most companies will over out of network reimbursement options. You can call your insurance and ask what the reimbursement rate would be for the CPT code 90837. My out of pocket rate is $112 per session.

Please call or email me if you have any questions, would like more information or to schedule an appointment. You can do this, you’re strong and so worth it!
